Accreditation Information for CEUs

Mary Ellen Copeland, PhD, offers free monthly webinars, many which qualify as Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) for some professionals. The webinars are offered for 1 CEU, when applicable, and last 1 hour. Webinars are appropriate for psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, nurses and alcohol and drug counselors, as well as people working on their own recovery and supporters. The webinars are geared toward all levels of social work practice (entry-level, intermediate level, and advanced level social workers).

Mary Ellen Copeland partners with Essential Learning to provide all CEUs for selected presentations. Essential Learning is the provider for all state and local accreditations listed below.

Please keep in mind that continuing education requirements for clinical professionals vary from state to state. Many state-level boards grant reciprocity with national accrediting organizations and other state boards. The best way to find out if a state licensing board has reciprocity with one of the national accrediting organizations or other state boards is to visit their web site or call them directly.

Although a majority of state licensure boards and national accrediting organizations accept online courses and home study programs for continuing education credit, some do not. Others may place a limit on the number of CE hours a practitioner can earn online or via home study. Please check with your state board and/or professional organization as it is your responsibility to be familiar with its policies on reciprocity and online/home study accreditation prior to enrollment.

We are proud to offer CEUs for the following accreditations:

Requesting CEUs after a webinar

All CEUs will be given no more than 30 days after completion of the webinar and requests after 30 days are up to the discretion of the awarding body. To request CEUs for a webinar you have attended, please email: Katie Wilson, Director of Marketing and Special Projects. You will be instructed to fill out an online survey. From the information provided, it will be determined whether you are eligible for CEUs. You will then be sent a course evaluation. After completion of the course evaluation, you will be sent a certificate via email.

CEUs are only available for the original broadcast and not for viewing the recording. We prove you attendance to the accrediting body based on Gotowebinar.com's records which logs in each person's attendance based on when they log-on online. Listening over the phone without logging on via the internet will not generate a record within Gotowebinar.com and therefore, will not qualify the participant for CEUs. Participants seeking CEUs must stay on the webinar for at least 60 minutes to be eligible for CEUs.

Any grievances should be directed to Katie Wilson, Director of Marketing and Special Projects.
